Annual Meeting, Tuesday, December 1, 2009

Hi folks,

Tuesday the 1st of December will be the annual meeting of the Sailingclub. Time is 8.00-10.00 pm.

We need to elect a board and decide what to do with the “Korkepenger”. Other issues are how and when to organize: a winter kiting course, an indoor kayak partner rescue introduction and an eskimo rolling training.

The 2009 season has started!!

Hi folks,

the northernmost sailing club in the world has started the season 2009!!

 The first sailboat is out of the ice free back door and we have filled one tank with water to rinse the equipment. On top of that we even got the engine from the rescue boat back to run again.

Thanks to all people helping and have a splendid sailing, kayaking or windsurfing season!!

Hi everybody,

Ulli is so kind to do a windsurfing course!!! It starts on the 1st of July and ends on the 4th of July. The sessions are each day from 18.00 to 22.00 We are happy to offer the possibility for 8 people to participate.

If we have more than 8 people willing to take the course, we will do a lottery but people helping in the sailingclub with everyday work are more likely to get into the course.

If you want to participate contact Ulli, Max or Eike.

Information Meeting

Hi folks, the sailing club gets ready for a new season. Therefore, we invite all interested people to come to an information meeting held on Tuesday19/05 @ UNIS 18.00. We need strong support in the organisation and especially permanent residents are welcome to join.

Get involved and help us to get the club going!

Three brand new windsurfs reached Svalbard Seilforening. After a long travel, the only thing we need now…WIND, WIND and MORE WIND.

The season is officially over :(

The temperature has dropped below 0 degrees so the latex on the dresses becomes brittle, the rinsing water freezes, etc.

Svalbard Wildlife just GAVE us 4 double-kayaks

We are of course delighted!!

The kayaks don’t have hatches but they’re perfect for daytrips in the fjord.
